Adriam Mariappa, an experienced central defender who has competed in England for the past 15 odd seasons, has agreed to terms with Macarthur FC Bulls.
The 35-year-old Jamaican international was a free agent after being released by Bristol City in May after a short stint following an injury crisis to the English Championship team.
Macarthur FC head coach Ante Milicic has made no secret of the club’s defensive concerns during pre-season, after the club conceded 17 goals in four friendly games.

Mariappa, who has played more than 150 times in the English Premier League for Watford, Reading and Crystal Palace, said the opportunity at the Bulls was one he “couldn’t turn down”.
“I want to thank the owners and the football staff for having faith in me and making this happen,” he said.
“I’m hungry to achieve great things with the club and create new memories with the team and the fans.”
Milicic said he was looking forward to Mariappa’s contribution to the Bulls, with the team currently undefeated across the opening two rounds of the A League Mens season.
“I’m thrilled that the club has been able to secure a player of Adrian’s quality and experience,” he said.
“Although he has never played A-League before, I’m most certain he will make a seamless adjustment given the career he has had so far.”
