Top SACA Premier Cricket players to watch this season revealed

From new recruits to rising stars and champions of the competition – we’ve picked the men’s and women’s players to watch this SACA Premier Cricket season. See who made the cut.

The 2024/2025 SACA Premier Cricket season is here and a number of players are ready to make their mark across two divisions of men’s and women’s competition.

To celebrate the start of the season, we’ve picked 40 players to watch across the competition.

Here they are in alphabetical order.

TOM ANDREWS

(Port Adelaide)

A Bradman Medal winner last season, Andrews should be set for another strong year at Port Adelaide.

Andrews has been a dominant all-rounder for his side and made 560 runs at an average of 70 while also taking 18 wickets through 2023/2024.

JOSH BARRETT

(East Torrens)

Barrett was dominant for East Torrens last season, tallying 527 runs as a gun top order batter and also performing consistently behind the stumps.

Should prove to be one of the top players in Premier Cricket again through 2024/2025.

STEPHANIE BEAZLEIGH

(Adelaide)

Adelaide’s women’s captain this season, Beazleigh can do damage with the bat at the top of the order and is reliable in the field.

Can take over a game at the crease and recently opened up her account this season with a total of 82 against Kensington.

JOSH BEVAN

(Port Adelaide)

A skilled all-rounder who can damage opposition in a number of ways, Bevan has Port Adelaide excited this season.

An up and coming talent for the club, Bevan could be set to have a breakout campaign and will be one to watch with the bat and ball.

LUCY BOWERING

(Glenelg)

A talented bowler who can terrorise opposition line-ups with her off-spin delivery.

Bowering remains one of the focal points of the Glenelg attack and took 5-26 against West Torrens to start the 2024/25 season.

BRANDON BRAY

(Northern Districts)

A dangerous off-spinner for the Jets, Bray will be one to watch this Premier Cricket season.

Bray is a young player with state experience and could be set for a big campaign in the attack and at the crease as a handy middle order batter.

HARVEY BRENNAN

(Woodville)

Brennan remains as Woodville captain after taking over from Chadd Sayers in 2023/2024.

An aggressive and reliable top order batter who can slash his way to impressive totals, Brennan will be integral to any success his club has this season.

HAMISH CASE

(Tea Tree Gully)

An up and coming star for Tea Tree Gully, Case has been tipped to have a big Premier Cricket campaign for his club.

Case has emerged as a talented all-rounder with major upside and will be one to watch as a solid top/mid order batter and in the bowling attack.

TAMARA CLAPTON

(West Torrens)

Clapton has joined West Torrens after a strong career with Para Hills in the ATCA and will be one to watch for the Eagles this season.

A powerful batter who can make runs quickly, Clapton scored over 800 runs for Para Hills last season and also took 24 wickets.

MAGGIE CLARK

(West Torrens)

One of SA’s most promising youngsters, 17-year-old speedster Maggie Clark is set for a big year with West Torrens.

A rising star who has experience playing for Australia and has also signed a Strikers contract, Clark can rip a match apart with the ball.

ELIZA DODDRIDGE

(Kensington)

A star leader for Kensington, Doddridge should impress for the Browns yet gain in 2024/2025.

Doddridge is a standout all-rounder in the women’s competition who can make big totals at the top of the order and also do damage with the ball or in the field.

JOSH DOYLE

(Kensington)

Captain of Kensington again this season, Doyle should be one of the Browns’ most consistent players through 2024/2025.

A star all-rounder who can do damage at the crease or with the ball, Doyle mainly excels with the bat as a composed and skilled option at the top of the order.

DANIEL DREW

(West Torrens)

Captain of the Eagles again this season, Drew remains one of the best players in Premier Cricket.

One of his side’s most reliable performers with the bat, Drew can pour on important runs for West Torrens at the top of the order.

CAM EDWARDS

(Adelade Uni)

A strong batter who is also reliable in the field, Edward could be set for a big 2024/2025 campaign with Adelaide Uni.

Can do major damage at the crease with his composed approach and should prove to be important near the top of the order throughout the season.

RILEE ENDERSBY

(Southern District)

An exciting young all-rounder for the Stingrays, Endersby will be one to watch this Premier Cricket season.

Endersby is a consistent medium-pace bowler who can take important wickets and has also been able to produce as a middle/lower order batter.

TEJAS GILL

(Adelaide)

A talented left-hander who makes difficult shots under pressure and can lead his team with impressive run totals.

Young gun Gill has been one of the top prospects in the Premier Cricket competition and could go to another level this season.

LIAM GREBER

(Port Adelaide)

Greber joined Port Adelaide last season after time with Adelaide Uni and should be a standout for his new club again this year.

A quality fast bowler who continues to improve, Greber has been an important and dangerous part of his side’s attack.

MACKENZIE HARVEY

(Sturt)

A star recruit for Sturt this season, Harvey will be one to watch for the Blues.

Harvey has BBL experience with the Renegades and is an exciting left-handed batter who can consistently make strong run totals and is also a standout in the field.

ELIZABETH JOHNSON

(Glenelg)

A talented top order batter who also contributes in the field, Johnson could be set for a big campaign at Glenelg.

Is a great shot-maker and recently started her 2024/2025 campaign with an impressive 59 not out against West Torrens.

KALEB JONES

(Port Adelaide)

A rising gun with the bat at Port Adelaide, Jones has been tipped to have a breakout season in Premier Cricket.

Jones has safe hands in the field and can also contribute consistently as a top/middle order batter who makes handy totals when needed.

JOSH KANN

(Northern Districts)

A powerful hitter at the top of the Jets order, Kann is a dangerous batter who can also chip in with the ball if needed.

Kann topped the Northern Districts run makers with 417 last season and the Queenslander should go close to that total in 2024/2025.

COREY KELLY

(Sturt)

Corey Kelly had another fantastic season for Sturt in 2023/2024 alongside star brother Tom and should produce at a high level again in 2024/2025.

A talented all-rounder, Kelly can do damage with the bat but has done most of his work with the ball, taking 37 wickets to lead the Blues last season.

SAM KERBER

(Adelaide Uni)

A dominant leader for the Blacks, Kerber can deliver with both the bat and ball as a damaging all-rounder.

Kerber starred last season to top the runs (451) and wickets (26) totals for Adelaide Uni as captain and will undoubtedly be one to watch.

RYAN KING

(East Torrens)

A promising batter for East Torrens who made 284 runs last season, King is expected to have a strong year for his club.

Consistently produces important innings for his side at the crease and often makes big shots under pressure.

SARAH LOWE

(Kensington)

One of the top all-rounders in the women’s competition, Lowe should be among the standout players again for season 2024/2025.

Equally impressive with bat and ball, Kensington’s captain got off to a strong start over the weekend with 88 runs and four wickets.

COOPER LUKE

(East Torrens)

A promising batter who can produce at the top and middle order, Luke will be one to watch for East Torrens this season.

Luke’s continued development for the club should see him become one of its most important players in 2024/2025 and his ability to make strong totals under pressure will be needed.

NOAH MCFAYDEN

(Adelaide)

A key recruit for Adelaide this season, McFayden should provide a boost for the Buffaloes.

McFayden arrives as a talented all-rounder who can produce strong innings with the bat and take important wickets in the attack.

SEB MCVANN

(Kensington)

A dangerous pace bowler for Kensington, McVann has been tipped as one who could have a big campaign for the Browns.

A talented quick who keeps batters on their toes with a variety of deliveries, McVann has the potential to be a difference maker for his side.

ED MILNER

(Prospect)

A promising batter and wicketkeeper, Milner is set to have a strong season with Prospect.

Milner can produce at the crease with his composed and efficient approach and is also a reliable presence behind the stumps.

DEAKIN MURPHY

(Woodville)

Murphy has returned to Woodville after time with SACA’s U19s and should provide a major boost for his club.

A promising all-rounder, Murphy can take important wickets with the ball for low run totals while also making handy totals with the bat.

LACHLAN MURPHY

(Southern District)

The standout batter for Southern District in season 2023/2024, Murphy is poised to produce another big year for his club.

Made 354 runs last season for the Stingrays and remains a threat for bowlers with his ability to stay composed and make big shots under pressure.

TIM OAKLEY

(Tea Tree Gully)

Returning to the Bulls after time in Tasmania, dangerous quick Oakley will be one of his side’s biggest weapons in attack.

Has a track record of dominating in big games for TTG and has the ability to take big scalps with ball in hand.

TOM O’CONNELL

(Sturt)

O’Connell was strong with bat and ball last season and has been tipped to have another solid campaign for the Blues.

Made 260 runs and also impressed in the field through 2023/2024 and will remain an important part of his club’s line-up.

CATE PEDERSEN

(Adelaide Uni)

A strong opening batter for Adelaide Uni in the women’s competition, Pedersen looks set for a big year.

Makes a number of big shots each week and opened her 2024/2025 account with a 76 total.

JOSH PENGELLEY

(Glenelg)

An all-rounder who makes handy totals and takes valuable wickets as a fast/medium bowler.

Pengelley was one of Glenelg’s most consistent players last season and has had a strong pre-season ahead of what could be a big 2024/2025 campaign.

ALEX PRICE

(Sturt)

One of the top all-rounders in the women’s first grade competition, Sturt captain Price will be one to watch again for the Blues.

A consistent shot-maker who often produces big totals under pressure, Price made 431 runs for her side last year while also taking 25 wickets.

KELVIN SMITH

(West Torrens)

Joint winner of the Bradman Medal alongside Port Adelaide star Tom Andrews last season, Smith will be a major weapon for the Eagles again in 2024/2025.

A brilliant top order batter who also has experience with the Redbacks, Smith’s ability to make huge totals has been important for his club.

TOM WILKINSON

(Glenelg)

Fast bowler Tom Wilkinson has returned to the Seahorses after time with the SACA U19s and has been backed to have a strong season for his side.

Wilkinson’s ability to take important wickets and damage an opposition with his variety of delivery should be key to Glenelg’s chances.

JAKE WINTER

(Glenelg)

Glenelg’s captain remains one of the competition’s top players and has been tipped to have yet another standout season for his club.

Usually opening the batting, Winter can make big totals at the crease and has also chipped in with the ball.

Made 385 runs for Glenelg last season.

BEN WYMAN

(Prospect)

Returning as Prospect captain this season, Wyman will be one to watch for the Pirates.

A veteran and legend at the club, Wyman has the ability to make strong totals with the bat while also producing in the field or behind the stumps.
