Jim Kambosos – father of boxer George – threatened to have Aussie former world champion Michael Katsidis “clipped” as the fallout from Kambosos’ win over Jake Wyllie took a shocking turn.

Katsidis shared the vile and threatening messages he received on Facebook on Sunday morning.

The drama kicked off after the tough Aussie boxer wrote, “After that fight, I’m coming out of retirement,” following Kambosos’ 12-round war with late-notice replacement Wyllie.

The 44-year-old Toowoomba boxer then shared a screenshot of a message Jim sent to him in response.

“Your (sic) a washed up bum so pull your head (in) before I arranged (sic) to get you clipped,” Jim Kambosos wrote. “Yuh (sic) have some nerve you turncoat f**k.”

After Katsidis responded, “Wow,” Kambosos added, “Always been a f***ing loser and you now playing your loser story you f***ing tosser.

“I’m going to now make this personal between you and me after vour week (sic) message to George.

“Expect the unexpected bitch”

He responded to Kambosos’ message in another comment on Facebook.

“Pousti malaka take it easy if you’re proud of that performance against a guy with 5 days notice,” he said. “Your message to me just then insulting me does you no justice. You’re in for a shock.

“You turned to the crowd walking out to your fight tonight to raise their support, they didn’t give a f**k.

“No one’s buying it George. You ain’t humble, you’ve ignored the boxing fraternity because you have your head up your ass.

“You’ll win more support being humble.

“That’s all kid. I’m telling you straight. You don’t like it. Too bad.”

Jim Kambosos responded to that comment with, “yep and I’m true to my word dog,” seemingly in reference to his threat to have Katsidis “clipped”.

Katsidis retired with a 33-8 record and had memorable battles with Juan Manuel Marquez, Ricky Burns and Robert Guerrero. He has been transparent about his post-boxing battles, including drug addiction and time behind bars.

After nearly two years in custody, the Sydney 2000 Olympian walked free last year and has worked hard to turn his life around.

Katsidis said Jim walked the threat back in later messages, but remained furious at the interaction.

“He’s back-pedalled on that and said he’s gonna get me sorted out, or something,” Katsidis told this masthead. “He said, ‘It’s not a death threat, you’re gonna get sorted out, you’re gonna get levelled up’.

“Whatever. He said he’s gonna make it personal between him and me.

“My dad’s jumping up and down, he’s not happy, because ‘I’m gonna get you clipped’ can mean a number of things.

“And my dad really does not care, he’s the OG.”

Katsidis said he isn’t concerned about the threats.

“I come from the world of boxing where it’s the real stuff, not this talk, talk, talk,” he said. “We’re not in America now, and the antics don’t bother me.

“They’ve been hurt by comments and the reaction is to insult me back and run me down.

“I’ve got nothing to hide, it’s no secret that I went to jail and served my time.

“I want to do good for the community, pass on my message to the next kids coming through and pass on my knowledge and they know I’m doing that.

“Then they want to have a go at me. George sends me a message saying, ‘Go back to your PTs’.

“They shouldn’t even be responding to that.

“I would’ve bent over backwards for that bloke and done anything for him. This is the thanks I get.

“If you can’t dominate a guy with only five days’ notice, what are you doing? You’ve gotta be a realist about it.

“The truth hurts. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of hard truth for these guys. It shouldn’t hurt them at all.

“If it means I’ve gotta come out of retirement and show these guys something, I will.”

Ben Horn, brother of the legendary former world champion Jeff, has waded into the ugly back-and-forth between Katsidis and the Kambososes.

Horn, who holds a professional boxing record (6-8), responded to Jim Kambosos threatening to get Katsidis “clipped” by sharing a photo of himself with for retired fighter.

“Here with my favourite Australian fighter of all time heard he is thinking of comming out of retirement,” Ben wrote.

“Man fight me I would love to share the ring with you how, could anyone not if they idolise some such a top bloke.”

Horn then commented on the bitter slanging match that broke out between Katsidis and the Kambososes.

“Then you have guys like this, wtf where is the respect?” he wore. “Sad to see to be honest, especially from a fellow fighter

“George pull ya head in.”

As debate raged in the comments, one user said: “WTF Seriously!!! I hope they both get what’s coming.”

To which George Kambosos replied: “Maybe Mick will to (sic) for showing his real colours.”
