Seattle Seahawks players subjected to ugly abuse from NFL fan

TWO NFL players have been subjected to one fan’s furious outrage over the national anthem protests that took over the past season.

THERE is no off-season for protesting NFL national anthem protests.

A driver confronted a few Seahawks players Sunday in Renton, Wash., outside the team’s headquarters and practice facility.

The unidentified woman, wearing sunglasses, badgered Seattle cornerbacks Neiko Thorpe and Mike Tyson to “get off your f***ing knees” in an angry rant about standing for “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Both were amused by the onslaught that was probably misdirected. Tyson did not play in a game last season, and it is unclear whether he ever dressed.

It is also not certain whether Thorpe had ever knelt for the anthem.

Regardless, the anger flowed.

“Get up and be a man,” she said from inside her car in video Thorpe tweeted.

“And you gotta get on your little f***ing knees and not represent the American flag that made you what you are.”

The woman declined to reveal her identity and was uninterested in learning who she was accosting.

“I don’t care who you are,” she said.

“All I care about is the fact that my tax dollars pay for you to play — and go f***ing play. Get off your f***ing knees.”

The players’ money comes from the team’s owner, who collects it from ticket-buying fans, broadcast contracts, sponsors, etc.

Players protesting the national anthem became a major talking point during the 2017/18 NFL season with even the President Donald Trump addressing the matter.

Trump spoke out on the matter on several occasions through his beloved Twitter account and eventually called for fans to boycott the league.

Sports fans should never condone players that do not stand proud for their National Anthem or their Country. NFL should change policy!

Of course that directive backfired as more players joined in with their teammates in kneeling for the anthem prior to kick-off.

As Trump continued his attack, teammates showed their support for the colleagues and with this latest incident coming during the off-season, it looks like the topic will continue to be a main talking point for the upcoming season.
