KEEN to see what all the fuss is about? This is how you can watch Jarryd Hayne and the 49ers play against Denver today.

YOU’VE read all about it and seen the highlights, but unless you’re lucky enough to be able to watch sport at work — or have Mondays off — you probably didn’t have the opportunity to watch Jarryd Hayne play live for the San Francisco 49ers against the Cowboys last Monday.
The good news is the Australian rugby league convert is playing today in a tantalising match-up against NFL legend Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
Hayne’s third preseason outing for the 49ers is scheduled to begin at 11am AEST — the perfect time for an Australian audience hungry to see what all the fuss is about.
Unfortunately the game isn’t being televised by ESPN or Channel 7, which share the rights to the NFL’s regular season in Australia.
ESPN attempted to get permission from the NFL to show all of Hayne’s preseason games with the 49ers without success. So the only way to watch this Sunday’s game live is through NFL Game Pass. It will cost you anywhere from $129 to $255 to sign up for the full season, but there is a 7-day free trial which will allow you to watch this weekend’s game at no cost.
San Francisco’s final preseason game is at home against the San Diego Chargers next Friday at noon AEST, so if you sign up for the free trial this Sunday you’ll be able to watch both games under the free trial. Read the fine print on the seven-day period though, or you could automatically signed up to a full season subscription and slugged $255.
We’ll also be blogging the game live at news.com.au, like we did during the game against the Cowboys on Monday.
If Hayne makes the 53-man roster at the 49ers, Foxtel subscribers will be able to watch his first NFL regular season game on ESPN, which is televising San Francisco’s home opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday, September 15, 12.15pm AEST.
It’s one of around four San Francisco games the network expects to broadcast this season, as well as showing highlights of every touchdown scored across the NFL during its live NFL Red Zone program on Monday mornings.
“After looking through schedules of the predetermined games we have rights too, there are approximately four games of the 49ers scheduled for our networks this season,” an ESPN spokesperson said. “Unfortunately we do not get to pick and choose the games and it is unlikely the NFL will licence any more games to us at this stage. We actually tried to get (Hayne’s) preseason games without success.”
Channel 7 broadcasts three consecutive NFL games on Mondays each week (Australian time) and has its choice of games in the first two timeslots (the final game is the stand-alone Sunday night football game in the US).
The Daily Telegraph is reporting Seven has entered negotiations to tailor a Hayne-specific package this season but as it stands the network can already show 14 of San Francisco’s 16 games this season on 7mate if it chooses.
