Andrew Bogut issues perfect backhanded sledge to rival NBA coach

AUSSIE NBA star Andrew Bogut took aim at a rival NBA coach and his epic sledge did not miss. This is one of the most creative ways to end an argument.

WARRIORS centre Andrew Bogut has delivered a delicious sledge at conference rivals Los Angeles Clippers.

In one of the more creative ways news.com.au has seen someone flip someone else the bird, Bogut took aim at Clippers coach Doc Rivers and did not miss.

Bogut was responding to Rivers’ claim the Warriors were lucky to win last season’s championship in which they beat Cleveland in the NBA finals series in June.

Rivers reckons Bogut’s boys were lucky they didn’t come up against the Clippers in the western conference playoffs last season, believing his team would have eliminated last season’s champions.

A number of reports last season suggested there is no love lost between the Clippers and Warriors and Rivers’ comments got an immediate reaction out of the Warriors.

Golden State shooter Klay Thompson responded to Rivers by saying he wanted to play the Clippers, but couldn’t because they had already been eliminated.

“Didn’t they lose to the Rockets,” Thompson asked before giggling.

“That just makes me laugh. That’s funny. Weren’t they 3-1 up too?

“I wanted to play the Clippers, but they couldn’t handle their business.

“If we got lucky, look at our record against them last year. I’m pretty sure we smacked them.”

The Warriors did boast a 3-1 record against the Clippers during the regular season.

That’s the kind of sledge you can be proud of.
That’s the kind of sledge you can be proud of.

Perhaps that’s why Bogut was so willing to return fire when asked about Rivers’ comments today.

“I’ve actually got my ring fitted for my middle finger so they can kiss that one,” Bogut told KNBR Radio in San Francisco.

“I just don’t understand that. We respect all previous champs. We’ll respect future champs. They don’t want to respect us, so be it.

“We’ve got a ring. We did all the hard work. We know what it takes. We don’t need any more motivation, but if they want to throw some at us, we’ll definitely put it on a little board and be aware of that.

“It’s one thing taking it from a team that’s won a championship, taking those kind of criticisms, but from a team that hasn’t is kind of dead air.”

It came after Houston star James Harden said Warriors guard Steph Curry didn’t deserve to be crowned the league MVP last season.

Not surprisingly, Harden said he is the game’s most valuable player.

Curry doesn’t see it that way.

“It doesn’t change what happened last year,” Curry said.

“I don’t know. Different guys find different ways of motivating themselves. I’ve never been one to just…I’m obviously confident in what I do, and I know he’s confident in what he does. It might come out in a different way.

“No matter what you think, I’m still the MVP. Deal with it.”
