American sports teams know how to do Halloween right

NOBODY does Halloween better than the NBA. This year they’ve taken their costume game to a whole new level.

EVERY year American sporting franchises try to outdo each other with their Halloween costumes and this year the internet is the real winner.

Players in the NBA, NHL and NFL have been showing off their costumes from Halloween parties with some particularly hilarious efforts from the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks.

Here’s why Halloween in American sport is even better than Mad Monday at Geelong.

The Washington Capitals set the bar pretty high.

This guy, Capitals right winger Tom Wilson, nailed the name-themed costume idea.

But, the Dallas Mavericks probably raised the bar slightly higher, particularly star German Dirk Nowitzki.

This year’s costumes may even be better than last year’s, which included Mavericks star Deron Williams’ Game of Thrones look-a-like.

Then Oklahoma City Thunder blew everyone else out of the water with these sterling ‘stumes.
