West Coast list analysis: Which Eagles are staying and going ahead of 2026?
With co-captain Oscar Allen out the door, seven list changes already confirmed, and trade targets still up for grabs, who is set to survive West Coast’s list overhaul?
Talent might not be the only issue at West Coast.
But a lack of it is certainty one of the big reasons the Eagles have just wrapped up their worst season on record.
First year coach Andrew McQualter has promised an extensive review into every aspect of the club’s football program after a flattening 67 point loss to Sydney in the final round of the home and away season.
And that includes another crucial off-season as the Eagles’ list rebuild continues.
Harley Reid has put pen to paper for another two years, one of the most significant signings in club history. But there’s plenty more still to be done.
With co-captain Oscar Allen out the door, seven list changes already confirmed, some trade targets still up for grabs and several youngsters out of contract, see who is set to survive the list crunch.
1. Liam Ryan
Age: 28, Games: 124 (20 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
West Coast has declared that Ryan is a required player after he requested a trade on Tuesday but his manager Colin Young has a strong track record of getting his client to their preferred destination. St Kilda have put a multi-year offer on the table and Ryan is one of the few Eagles left with currency.
Status: Going
2. Jake Waterman
Age: 27, Games: 112 (8 in 2025), Contract ends: 2029
A shoulder injury ended his 2025 season but the All-Australian forward is locked in for the long-term after signing a new five-year deal late last year. Set to lead West Coast’s forward line following Oscar Allen’s departure.
Status: Staying
3. Liam Baker
Age: 27, Games: 150 (23 in 2025), Contract ends: 2029
The new recruit is on track for a top three finish in West Coast’s best and fairest after a productive first season in the blue and gold. Contracted for another four years.
Status: Staying
4. Dom Sheed
Age: 30, Games: 165 (0 in 2025), Contract ends: 2025
The hero of West Coast’s 2018 premiership called time on his career in July after suffering a season-ending ACL injury. Will never pay for a beer in Perth again.
Status: Going
5. Jayden Hunt
Age: 30, Games: 157 (15 in 2025), Contract ends: 2025
Hunt crossed to the Eagles from Melbourne as an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2022 and his experience proved valuable for a developing West Coast list. Retired at the conclusion of the season after losing his spot in the side.
Status: Going
6. Elliot Yeo
Age: 31, Games: 212 (0 in 2025), Contract ends: 2027
Failed to play a game this season due to a complicated ankle/knee injury and West Coast sorely missed him. Attracted interest from several clubs last year but will be an Eagle for life after signing a three-year extension.
Status: Staying
7. Reuben Ginbey
Age: 20, Games: 62 (23 in 2025), Contract ends: 2027
The young defender is poised for a top three finish in the John Worsfold medal after a breakout season. Fought outside of his weight division for most of the year yet still isn’t getting much external recognition.
Status: Staying
8. Elijah Hewett
Age: 20, Games: 34 (20 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
Played 20 games for the first time in his career after a foot injury wiped out his 2024 campaign. Showed strong glimpses of his talent but the aim will be to do it consistently next year.
Status: Staying
9. Harley Reid
Age: 20, Games: 39 (19 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
An injury-interrupted pre-season, a frustrating start to the year, a glimpse of his best and then a season-ending ankle injury, it was a rollercoaster 2025 for the young star. Has signed a two-year contract extension, one of the most significant coups in club history.
Status: Staying
10. Tyler Brockman
Age: 22, Games: 56 (20 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
The former Hawk played the most games he ever has in a season and was injected into the midfield at times by McQualter. Noticeably improved his fitness and kicked 14 goals, the fifth-most of any Eagle.
Status: Staying
11. Tim Kelly
Age: 30, Games: 164 (20 in 2025), Contract ends: 2027
Kelly bravely admitted he’d fallen out of love with football earlier this year and that showed in his early season form. He’s been dropped twice this year, once on his own accord, but he’s been rewarded with a new two-year deal after finding form late in the season.
Status: Staying
12. Oscar Allen
Age: 26, Games: 105 (12 in 2025), Contract ends: 2025
One of the worst kept secrets in the AFL, the West Coast co-captain will join Brisbane next year as a restricted free agent. Allen struggled for form early in the year, was sent down back after injuries to key Eagles before a calf/achilles injury ended his year.
Status: Going
13. Noah Long
Age: 26, Games: 36 (10 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
The small forward was in and out of the side this season after a serious knee injury wiped ended his 2024 campaign prematurely. Only kicked three goals from 10 games but has another year to prove he’s up to the level.
Status: Staying
14. Liam Duggan
Age: 28, Games: 200 (21 in 2025), Contract ends: 2028
The co-captain’s leadership has been questioned at times but Duggan has been carrying a knee injury this season and underwent clean-out surgery once a two-week suspension ended his year. Is still a key part of West Coast’s backline.
Status: Staying
15. Jamie Cripps
Age: 33, Games: 272 (21 in 2025), Contract ends: 2025
The evergreen small forward is set to sign a one-year contract extension after an impressive season, leading West Coast’s goal kicking with 24 majors. His experience and durability are a blessing in attack for the young Eagles.
Status: Staying
16. Matt Owies
Age: 28, Games: 88 (16 in 2025), Contract ends: 2027
It was an underwhelming first season at West Coast for the former Blue with a combination of form and injuries impacting his output. Kicked just seven goals from 16 games and didn’t provide the spark many thought he would.
Status: Staying
17. Jack Graham
Age: 27, Games: 149 (18 in 2025), Contract ends: 2028
A four-game ban for a homophobic slur was a blight on an otherwise productive season for the former Tiger. Split his time between the midfield and half-forward line and was a key conjugate between McQualter and the playing group.
Status: Staying
18. Campbell Chesser
Age: 21, Games: 36 (4 in 2025), Contract ends: 2025
The wingman underwent ankle surgery at the start of the year after experiencing lingering issues from a previous injury but he finally broke into West Coast’s senior side late in the season. Has a two-year contract offer in front of him following some good form but he has also flirted with the idea of returning home to Victoria.
Status: Likely staying
19. Brady Hough
Age: 22, Games: 75 (22 in 2025), Contract ends: 2028
The young lockdown defender was retooled as a defensive midfielder midway through the season in a sign of his versatility. Remains one of West Coast’s best young players.
Status: Staying
20. Jeremy McGovern
Age: 33, Games: 197 (6 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
The four-time All-Australian and premiership hero was sadly forced into retirement by the AFL’s concussion panel earlier this year. McGovern signed a one-year extension in February but West Coast will receive protection for up to 90 per cent of his salary.
Status: Going
21. Jack Petruccelle
Age: 26, Games: 90 (2 in 2025), Contract ends: 2025
The pacey small forward has been shown the door after eight seasons at West Coast, failing to get a regular start under new coach McQualter.
Status: Going
22. Archer Reid
Age: 19, Games: 14 (14 in 2025), Contract ends: 2027
The exciting young key forward made his debut in round one and showed glimpses of his potential, especially in the air. His goal kicking needs work but he’ll get plenty of opportunities next season following Allen’s departure.
Status: Staying
23. Ryan Maric
Age: 21, Games: 50 (22 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
The former No.1 mid-season draft pick would’ve played every game for the Eagles this year if not for illness in the final game against Sydney. Maric found plenty of the footy down back but he doesn’t make it easy for his teammates at times with his disposal and decision making.
Status: Staying
24. Harvey Johnston
Age: 19, Games: 6 (0 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
After making his debut last season, the second-year midfielder was stuck in the WAFL in 2025. He has potential as a smooth, outside runner but needs to show it at AFL level in his contract year.
Status: Staying
25. Matthew Flynn
Age: 27, Games: 55 (18 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
The former Giant was dropped after a dismal round one display against Jarrod Witts but fought back to play consistent senior footy. Still struggles against the AFL’s best big men but the Eagles don’t have many ruck options.
Status: Staying
26. Bo Allan
Age: 19, Games: 6 (6 in 2025), Contract ends: 2028
Many were excited about what the first round draft pick could achieve in his debut season but a combination of injury and illness limited him to a handful of games. Recently signed a two-year contract extension and should get more opportunity next year.
Status: Staying
27. Tom Gross
Age: 18, Games: 8 (8 in 2025), Contract ends: 2027
Despite being infamously run down late in the game against Richmond, the young midfielder showed strong signs in his debut season. His pace and willingness to take the game on earned him a one-year contract extension.
Status: Staying
28. Tom Cole
Age: 27, Games: 130 (18 in 2025), Contract ends: 2025
The premiership defender found himself on the outer at times this season but he fought his way back into the senior side. Is set to pen a one-year extension.

Status: Staying

Age: 21, Games: 2 (0 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
The young tall’s career is at the crossroads after failing to feature at senior level this year. Was trialled as a key defender in pre-season before splitting his time between the ruck and forward line in the WAFL.
Status: Staying
31. Lucca Grego
Age: 18, Games: 1 (1 in 2025), Contract ends: 2027
The Western Jets product made his debut in the final round of the home and away season after a promising debut year in the WAFL. Classy and competitive, Grego signed a one-year extension in June.
Status: Staying
32. Bailey Williams
Age: 25, Games: 87 (16 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
West Coast’s ruck riddle wasn’t clear heading into round one and it’s no clearer at the end of the season. Williams held down the role in some games and was a key forward in others but he’s worth persisting with.
Status: Staying
33. Rhett Bazzo
Age: 21, Games: 28 (7 in 2025), Contract ends: 2026
The key defender extended for one year until 2026, after overcoming a torrid injury run. Bazzo played his seventh consecutive AFL game in West Coast’s final game against Sydney, signing a one-year extension in the days before.

The Claremont product has played the second-most games of West Coast’s 2024 draft crop and earned himself a one-year contract extension as a result. His long-term role is up for debate but he’s impressed with his clean skills and work rate.
Status: Staying

Age: 19, Games: 0 (0 in 2025), Contract ends: 2025
The emerging big man represented the Indigenous All-Stars earlier this year but is yet to make his AFL debut. Has led the ruck on several occasions for West Coast in the WAFL and could be kept on as depth.
Status: Likely staying
40. Callum Jamieson

The versatile tall Jamieson joined the Eagles in 2019 and faced several injury challenges during his time at the club. Has been delisted.

Status: Staying
42. Harry Edwards
Age: 24, Games: 55 (16 in 2025), Contract ends: 2027
Turned his back on interest from Melbourne to re-sign with West Coast and thank goodness he did given McGovern was forced into an early retirement. A strong season as the Eagles’ key pillar.
Status: Staying
43. Tyrell Dewar
Age: 21, Games: 23 (16 in 2025), Contract ends: 2028
NGA success story Dewar has played a range of positions this season, scoring a Rising Star nomination in round 14. Definitely has AFL traits but the Eagles are still figuring out exactly where they can best be used.
