He was dubbed the Showdown-winning King of Adelaide but Jordan Dawson’s year now has a new highlight, announcing his engagement to his beloved “first kiss”.
The Adelaide Crows player took to Instagram to reveal his engagement to long-time partner Milly Dutton.
The pair posted a joint Instagram post with the caption: “My first kiss & locked in as my last
Milly is seen with a huge, coloured rock – wrapped with diamonds – on a thin gold band.
With her arm around Dawson, the pair, who grew up together in Robe and have been linked romantically since 2018, looked as loved-up as ever.
Hundreds of comments from fellow AFL players flooded the pair’s post, wishing them congratulations.
Crows player Josh Rachele said “congrats brother x”, while Ned McHenry commented, “Huge if true” and Brodie Smith commented “Dawsaaaa
The Adelaide Crows captain, Rory Sloane, who welcomed his fourth child and first baby girl in November of this year, commented “Yeassss!! Congrats you two xx”.
Wives and girlfriends of the players also commented on the post, with Bel Sloane writing “HUGE congrats lovebirds
Star recruit Dawson, who has been widely tipped to take the mantle as Crows captain, returned to Adelaide as a free agent at the end of 2021 after six seasons on Sydney’s list.
The 25-year-old utility had a stunning debut year, ending the season with a 24.6 disposal average and landing second on his first Crows’ Best and Fairest count.
The happy news comes just days after fellow Crow player Paul Seedsman and his wife Alice announced they were expecting their first child.
