Adelaide is still expecting high performance boss Darren Burgess to be at West Lakes in 2025 as he is courted by rival clubs.
It is understood that the Crows are aware of the interest in Burgess from rival clubs from Melbourne, but are expecting him to remain at West Lakes next season.
The highly respected fitness guru is understood to be one of the most well paid, if not the most well paid in such a position in the industry, since he joined the Crows after Melbourne’s 2021 premiership triumph to be closer to family.
Melbourne powerhouses Carlton and Richmond are on the lookout for new high performance bosses.
Burgess spent just over a year at Alberton with Carlton senior coach Michael Voss when the two were at Port Adelaide prior to him moving to English Premier League giants Arsenal.
The Blues’ high performance boss Andrew Russell will step away from footy after 26 years within the industry at the end of this year.
While the Tigers are also on the hunt after physical performance manager Luke Meehan made the decision to step away from the club after 12-years.
Both the Melbourne clubs have copped significant injuries in 2024.
Burgess has cultivated one of the best reputations in the industry when it comes to high performance bosses.
Since he arrived at West Lakes, the Crows have had one of the better records in the AFL when it comes to games lost to injury to players in their best team.
He has also worked with Liverpool and the Socceroos.
