A Western Bulldogs youngster wasn’t at all impressed with his coach’s decision as his frustration boiled over on Friday night.

Western Bulldogs youngster Ryley Sanders wasn’t happy on Friday night.

The number six pick from the 2023 AFL Draft was subbed out in the third quarter as the Dogs fell to Essendon at Marvel Stadium.

Sanders’ night ended after the talented 19-year-old had amassed eight disposals and five tackles with Bailey Dale taking his place.

But it was his reaction on the bench after being taken out of the contest that caught the eye of those watching on with the midfielder said to have been left seething.

“He threw a water bottle, he threw the towel — absolutely threw the toys out of the cot,” ABC boundary rider Tim Hodges said.

“He was seething to be subbed out again.

“So much hype about Ryley Sanders but he’s out of this game.”

Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge was asked about the decision following the game, making it the second time in his short career that Sanders has been subbed out.

“We’ll process it with him post-game,” Beveridge told reporters.

“It’s always difficult; not many of us really enjoy the sub factor — especially the subbing out aspect.

“But it’s a steep learning curve for Sando; I mean he’s going to be such an important player for the football club and he’s learning all the time, and part of that is understanding that, from time to time, he may be that guy that comes off the ground.

“We’ll work through it with him.”

The knives are well and truly out for Beveridge with the Dogs coach coming under heavy fire from footy fans before the match had even started.

Beveridge has been renowned for his peculiar decisions at the selection table and he produced another head scratcher on Friday when Dale was named as the substitute.

Dale’s omission from the Bulldogs’ starting 22 comes weeks after fellow All Australians Jack Macrae and Caleb Daniel were also named as substitutes.

The decision left social media users fuming with many calling for the Bulldogs to finally cut the cord and move on from the premiership winning coach.

One user wrote: “Luke Beveridge can’t be in a job much longer. How can you be so poor with so much talent at your disposal. His decisions are bewildering at times, would not be surprised to see him moved on mid week.”

A second added: “Luke Beveridge will be out of a job on Monday morning.”

A third wrote: “Luke Beveridge is a dead man walking with his coaching style.”

A fourth wrote: “It would be a miracle if Luke Beveridge sees out the year after tonights performance.”

The Western Bulldogs return to action on Thursday night when they go up against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium.
