Ian “Molly” Meldrum was a delighted spectator at Marvel Stadium on Sunday as he watched his beloved St Kilda beat Richmond.

The Saints notched up their second win of the season with an 18.9 (117) to 13.6 (84) victory over the Tigers and Meldrum loved every minute of it.

Just days after the frail-looking Australian music and TV icon, 79, farewelled Shane Warne at his MCG memorial, Meldrum was in good spirits after watching his AFL side outclass Damien Hardwick’s troops by 33 points.

He congratulated Saints players and shook hands with them after the full-time siren.

Meldrum has rarely been seen in public since he was injured in a fall from a ladder at his home in December, 2011.

The injury left him with a fractured skull, swelling on the brain and several broken bones.
