The party was well underway late in the fourth quarter when Collingwood forward Brody Mihocek submitted his contender for goal of the year.

A snap from Jordan de Goey went to the goal line where Mihocek was battling with Sydney’s Nick Blakey.

As the ball came down Mihocek stretched out his right leg and delivered a pefect bicycle kick to put the ball over his head and through the big sticks.

The moment of magic left fans and commenators in sheer disbelief.

Mihocek finished things off with a goal in the dying seconds to give him five goals on the day.

The game got off to a fiery start as Sydney targeted Collingwood second-year star Nick Daicos from the opening bounce.

The Swans went straight after the second-year Brownlow favourite in the opening quarter, but things exploded after Sydney kicked their first goal of the game.

Ryan Clarke got the Swans on the board before turning and going straight at his opponent Daicos which sparked an all-out brawl.

“They are intent on putting Daicos off his game,” Chanel 7 commentator Brian Taylor said. “And the teammates at Collingwood looking after him. Straight to Daicos (Clarke) went, his direct opponent after he kicked that goal.”

The umpires attempted to settle things down but there was no stopping Sydney’s Tom Papley as the fiery forward made a beeline for the rising star.

Papley targeted Daicos and delivered a forearm into his back. Forcing the Pies star to the deck and giving away a free kick in the process.

That hit from Papley led to bodies been thrown all over the turf and players from both sides all weighed in.

Clarke was given the task to nullify the impact of Daicos and he did a solid job in the opening half, holding him to 13 disposals before he finished with 25 touches.

Daicos has torched opponents all season long, racking up over 30 disposals with ease as the Pies showed they’re the team to beat in 2023.

The clamps being applied to Collingwood’s best player this year worked for the Swans in the opening half as they held an eight point advantage.

In the second half however it was Collingwood who delivered when it mattered most as they kicked seven goals to one over the final two quarters.

Errol Gulden led the way for the Swans in the midfield, racking up 37 disposals to narrowly edge out teammate Luke Parker who had 34.
