Craig McRae’s side was outside the top eight on percentage alone after Round 11, equal with Western Bulldogs and Richmond on 24 points.

The Tigers have a bye this round, while the Bulldogs face a blockbuster Friday night clash against Geelong.

Should the Cats prevail, the Magpies will have a huge opportunity to stamp themselves as a serious finals contender.

Fremantle and Brisbane Lions’ clash might not rate many mentions on the eastern seaboard, however it will have big ramifications on the top-four race as teams jostle for the No.1 contender spot behind reigning premier Melbourne.
