The Brisbane Lions have torn the Sydney Swans to shreds as they marched to a dominant victory in the 2024 AFL Grand Final.

After a tense start to the contest, the Lions stormed away with it halfway through the second quarter as they held a 46-point halftime lead before going on with the job as they wrapped up the 18.12 (120) to 9.6 (60) win.

The Swans were the best team throughout the entirety of the season, but when it mattered most they were nowhere to be found.

After two nailbiting wins in the finals series, the Lions turned into a ruthless machine on the MCG as they ran riot over their highly-favoured opponents.

20-year-old Will Ashcroft etched his name into the AFL record books as he became the youngest ever player to win the Norm Smith Medal after a blistering display.

The win is the fourth premiership for the Brisbane Lions and their first since 2003 when they completed their three-peat.
