Adelaide train-on player Tom McGuane in a moon boot after rolling his ankle at training
Tom McGuane has hit a roadblock in his quest to join Adelaide’s list over the off-season, with the son-of-a-gun sidelined with injury. See the full details.
Overlooked draftee Tom McGuane has had a setback in his bid to earn a Crows list spot, sustaining an ankle injury.
McGuane, 18, is on crutches and in a moon boot after hurting himself at training at West Lakes earlier this week.
The zippy midfielder, who is vying for a squad berth at the Crows with former Sydney and Southport on-baller Zac Foot, is expected to be sidelined for a fortnight.
Adelaide invited McGuane to audition for its coaches after he went undrafted last month.
Collingwood, where his dad Mick was a premiership star, opted not to select him as a father-son pick.
The Crows have until February 20 – the end of the AFL’s supplemental selection period – to add either McGuane or Foot to their squad.
