Melbourne’s striking architecture can be found all across the city but lurking in the suburbs are some of the most ugliest homes.
From derelict dumps to ancient castles, the eyesores have been put on blast by Instagram page Ugly Melbourne Houses.
Run under the pseudonym Frank Lloyd Wrong, the page has shared more than 4000 posts and has a loyal following of 40,000 fans.
Frank told the Herald Sun the page was created to showcase ugly homes that were “far too under represented on the internet”.
“I love ugly houses and there seemed to be no way to really categorise or define them,” they said.
“Beautiful houses have lots of really lovely sounding descriptions, I felt it was time for ugly houses to shine.
“Ugliness shows character and character is very important, especially in Melbourne, we love character in our neighbourhoods.”
The location of the homes are not listed due to privacy but this doesn’t stop followers from guessing.
With clever captions calling out awnings, interiors and everything in between, here are some subjective standouts:
The Music Man
King of the Jungle
Rustic Dump
Wine O’Clock
Let’s Build a Sandcastle
Doomsday
You Do the Math
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie
Chaotic Mess
