It’s got one bedroom, two bathrooms, a squash court and a swimming pool — and it can be yours for $600,000.
One of Toowoomba’s quirkiest homes has hit the market, with Elders Real Estate listing the unusual property on Olsen Street in Rangeville for sale.
The home on 830 sqm is essentially two buildings linked by a car port, with the eye-catching elements including a squash court with viewing deck, indoor pool, double-garage and studio home with mezzanine level for an office or spare bed.
Listing agent Justine Dill said the house was reportedly built by neighbours in the 1970s as an entertainment space for the family, with the current bedroom used for games and other activities.
“It’s right up there, we’ve never had anything like this — we’re after the dashing young couples who love sport,” she said.
“The property was built in 1970 according to records and a neighbour on the eastern side actually built this for his family to use.”
Ms Dill said the property was already attracting interest, noting there were some extension and redevelopment upsides.
“It’s already creating great interest from the market who can see the potential of this quirky property in such a great location,” she said.
“There’s a carport there, so between the studio and squash courts you could add a second bedroom or extension.
“Investors could make great income if turned to a short-stay rental – the search is on for our next ‘out of the box’ go-getter.”
Ms Dill and Chris Shine will hold open house inspections on Saturday from 11.30am.
