AFTER outgrowing its home in Brook St, 4 Brothers Brewing has announced plans to expand and relocate - and you could be a part of it.

The pioneering Toowoomba craft brewing company has opened expressions of interest for its equity crowdfunding campaign, which will launch on November 1.

Just hours after launching yesterday morning, more than 70 people had already indicated they were keen to invest in the home-grown company.

"We've got quite a good response so far," managing director Adrian Cubit said yesterday.

"Because we're such a locally focused brewery, we'd love to see the chance for local people, our patrons, our customers, to own a share of our company."

Mr Cubit said there was no escaping the reality that the company had outgrown its home at the old dairy co-op in Brook St.

"We can't really expand any more in the space that we're in. One of the main things we want to have is a larger, more comfortable venue that's also got a proper kitchen - so we can do food," he said.

Since launching the brewery in April 2017, 4 Brothers Brewing has successfully brewed more than 100 batches of beer, available at more than 30 venues.

But the small space means the company is struggling to brew enough beer to keep up with demand.

The idea of crowdfunding the expansion was something the company had been looking at for a while, Mr Cubit said.

"Equity crowdfunding is used around the world - especially in the brewing industry," he said.

"We knew that would be the route we would take when we were ready to expand further. It's a really good avenue to use, especially for a product like us with beer.

"Not only do customers get a chance to become shareholders, once they are, they'll seek out the product more often."
