Welcome, once again, to our live coverage of US politics. The drama keeps trundling on.

Donald Trump’s former top political adviser, Steve Bannon, has predicted he’ll “run and win” again in 2028, defying the provision of American law that limits presidents to two terms.

“I’m a firm believer that President Trump will run and win again in 2028,” Mr Bannon told News Nation host Chris Cuomo today.

But both sides have said they are working toward a longer peace plan.

Though Mr Zelensky welcomed the proposed energy truce, he said Mr Putin has “effectively rejected the proposal for a full ceasefire”.
