Prince Harry and Meghan Markle react to South Park mockery amid reports they planned to sue

The Sussexes have finally broken their silence on an episode of South Park amid reports they planned to sue the makers.

There's 'talk' that Harry and Meghan are going to 'sue' South Park over episode of them

The Sussexes have finally broken their silence over the controversial South Park episode in which they were mocked and ridiculed amid reports they planned to sue the makers of the animated series.

In a terse statement issued to Newsweek, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle slammed claims that they are planning to sue the show.

The Sussexes, however, failed to address reports that the Duchess was left “upset and overwhelmed” by their unflattering depiction in the satirical cartoon.

Reacting to speculation that Prince Harry and his wife were planning to sue the South Park makers, the Sussexes’ spokesperson said: “This is baseless and boring.”

Earlier, it was reported that royal insiders began leaking Ms Markle’s “embarrassment” at the negative reaction to Prince Harry’s memoir after the couple was “excluded” by the King and brutally mocked by South Park.

“California sources” claimed friction developed between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex amid the reaction to Spare, which boiled over after South Park’s “Worldwide Privacy Tour” left Ms Markle “upset and overwhelmed” for days.

It comes amid reports Ms Markle was left feeling “excluded” from the King’s coronation plans and, as a result, may turn down a royal invitation to attend the ceremony.

After the airing of South Park, The Spectator claimed the couple was so frustrated with the episode that they are now “taking it out on each other”.

“[Meghan] is annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it all,” the anonymous source told the outlet, adding it couldn’t come at a worse time as the Duchess was “obsessed with her half-sister’s litigation.

Ms Markle is preparing to defend a defamation lawsuit filed by her sister, Samantha Markle, while also “weighing up” whether to travel to the UK for the coronation on May 6.

Friends say the House of Sussex is in a “predicament” over whether to attend, with their absence likely to be seen as a “snub” while their presence could detract from “the most important day” in the life of Prince Harry’s father.

“It’s complicated,” a friend of the couple told the UK’s Telegraph. “There are a million different variables. Anybody could understand the predicament.”

While they are expected to be invited to Westminster in the coming days, sources close to the Duchess told the Spectator she “feels excluded”.

Prince Harry would not have an official role during the ceremony, and the couple would likely join other, lesser, members of the Royal family in the Royal Gallery in the Abbey, the Telegraph reported.

Regardless, Prince Harry is said to want to be by his father’s side to mark the occasion, and is keen to salvage the broken relationship between his family. Any decision won’t be made until the couple officially receives an invitation.

“They’ll cross that bridge when they come to it,” their friend told The Telegraph. “They do not have any insight. They’re in limbo.”

Ways around the so-called “predicament” being considered are whether Prince Harry returns to the UK with the whole family, or travels alone while Ms Markle remains in the US with children Lilibet and Archie, who has his birthday on the same day.

It is understood that Prince Harry’s request for a sit-down meeting with the family if he returned to the UK was denied, which would make his appearance at the Coronation his first contact with the King or brother, Prince William, since the release of Spare.

The tell-all memoir broke sales records, but despite the financial independence it gave the couple, it reportedly “wasn’t enough” for Meghan.

“[She’s’] embarrassed by the whole thing and seeking support from mentors,” the California insider said.

Ms Markle was described as “sorority girl, actress, influencer, victim” in the episode, sparking rumours the couple was considering legal action against the show’s creators
