This weekend, Catherine, Princess of Wales again proved her dedication to the royal family and its traditions through her subtle and elegant fashion choices, particularly accessorising with key pieces of jewellery.

On Sunday, the royal looked appropriately moved as she made an appearance at the annual Remembrance Day Service, held at the Cenotaph in London.

Elegant and poised in all black except for three poppies pinned to her left shoulder, Catherine wore a stunning pleated black coat dress accented with a wide-brimmed Breakfast at Tiffany’s style hat.

The Princess of Wales wore fresh but neutral makeup and her hair pulled back in a simple ponytail.

But it was the pair of diamond-encrusted pearl drop earrings that made the real statement.

The earrings had previously belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

Royal watchers may remember that Catherine also wore Diana’s pearl earrings to accessorise last year’s outfit, while sending a message that she will never forget her husband, Prince William’s mother.

The Princess of Wales was also the picture of elegance as she joined her husband Prince William at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance on Saturday night.

Wearing a tailored black tuxedo jacket nipped in at the waist, paired with a pleated skirt and tights. Kate looked stunning as she made her way into the Royal Albert Hall for the special commemorative concert.

For the evening, Catherine chose to pay tribute to her mum-in-law, the late Queen Elizabeth II by wearing her Japanese Pearl Choker necklace and her Bahrain Diamond and Pearl Drop earrings.

The four-strand pearl choker with a centre diamond clasp was personally commissioned by the Queen, using pearls given to her by the Japanese government.

Her Majesty’s necklace was also worn by Princess Diana to a state banquet for the Netherlands in 1982.

Significantly, Catherine wore the stunning necklace to Her Majesty’s state funeral in September, as well as to Prince Philip’s funeral last year.

It comes as King Charles, Prince William and senior members of the royal family gathered at London’s Royal Albert Hall to pay their respects at the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance.

This year marks King Charles’ first Remembrance Day as monarch.

The emotional service doubled as a tribute to the late Queen, who was the longest serving Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces.

During the event, a clip was played showing archive footage of the Queen throughout the years.

In one segment, Her Majesty was heard speaking of the “tremendous contribution” the Armed Forces had made to Britain’s “standing and reputation” throughout the world.

It comes ahead of the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall.

The Queen, who died on September 8 at the age of 96, considered Remembrance Sunday one of the most important engagements in her royal calendar.

Hosting the annual Royal British Legion event, BBC newsreader Huw Edwards said the late monarch symbolised “completely” service and duty.

“It’s been a year where talk of service and duty has come to the fore,” he said.

“Service and duty are the watchwords of military life. They always have been.

“And no individual symbolised those watchwords more correctly, more completely than Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, patron of the Royal British Legion for a remarkable period spanning eight decades.”

King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.

Catherine was elegant in a black blazer with three poppies pinned to her collar.

She wore drop pearl earrings and a stunning matching necklace in what may have been a touching tribute to the late Queen, who favoured pearls.

Camilla opted for a black dress a delicate red poppy brooch.
