Astronomer HR chief Kristin Cabot’s husband Andrew was overseas on business during Coldplay concert kiss cam saga

New details about how Kristin Cabot’s husband Andrew discovered his wife had become internet famous for all the wrong reasons on the Coldplay kiss cam have been revealed.

Privateer Rum CEO Andrew Cabot was on an overseas business trip when his wife, Kristin Cabot, was caught canoodling at a Coldplay concert — and the couple’s relatives were likewise blindsided by the scandal, a source close to the situation told The Post.

The tipster said Andrew Cabot, founder of the Massachusetts-based, high-end liquor maker, had been on a work-related trip to Japan and returned to find himself and his family in the middle of a social media firestorm.

(Andrew) was in Asia for a few weeks and returned on Saturday, so he was gone while all this went down,” said the source, who requested anonymity to discuss the situation. “Poor guy.”

Multiple attempts to contact Andrew Cabot and Privateer Rum went unanswered. When The Post called Privateer Rum, the company’s voicemail box was full.

Kristin and Andrew Cabot married sometime after her previous divorce was finalised in 2022. The source said there had been little indication of any trouble in paradise before the Coldplay concert video went viral.

“The family is now saying they have been having marriage troubles for several months and were discussing separating — which I find interesting since as of a month ago they were saying how in love they are,” the source added.

The Post was first to report that Kristin Cabot, whose maiden name in Stanek, was married to Andrew Cabot and that the pair had purchased a A$3.3 million mansion in Rye, New Hampshire, just five months before the scandal broke out.

The Cabots were seen smiling and wearing wedding rings alongside two young kids in a Facebook post from May 2024.

Andrew Cabot is a member of one of the oldest and wealthiest families in Boston. The Cabots are one of the original “Boston Brahmin” clans that controlled New England for centuries.

A bio on Privateer’s website says his “ancestor, the original Andrew Cabot (1750-1791), was a merchant, rum distiller and successful American privateer during the American Revolution.”

The brand — whose high-end bottles can retail for upward of A$150 each — touts its strict use of authentic ingredients and “Made in the USA” pedigree.

“One thing is certain,” one ad advises. “Privateer advocates transparency, honesty and purity.”

Kristin Cabot’s now-deleted LinkedIn account showed that she has served as an “advisory board member” at Privateer Rum since September 2020.

Meanwhile, the wife of former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron is reportedly holed up in a

A$3.6 million mansion since her husband was caught on camera at a Coldplay concert cozying up with his HR chief.

Megan Byron, 50, has fled her and her husband’s multimillion-dollar home in Northborough, Massachusetts, for a ritzy residence in Kennebunk, some 160 kilometres away in Maine, according to the Daily Mail.

She has been hiding out at the four-bedroom, 387 sqm home, where family members and friends have been spotted visiting all week, the outlet said.

The whole town “has seen (the video) but the family do not want to talk about it,” one Kennebunk local said.

Megan has yet to comment publicly about her husband’s deer-in-the-headlights moment, but has since removed his name from her social media profiles, reverting to her maiden name, Kerrigan.

Photos from her account show the happy Byron couple with arms around each other beaming while out hiking and at a high school graduation, flanked by two teens who appear to be their grown sons.

Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot, the head of Astronomer’s HR, were caught canoodling on the kiss cam at Coldplay’s concert at Foxborough Stadium near Boston last Wednesday, July 16.

Panicked under the spotlight, Cabot quickly covered her face and Byron ducked out of view.

Coldplay singer Chris Martin quickly quipped, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”

Andy was swiftly forced to resign over the scandal, and Cabot – who is married to another CEO, Andrew Cabot, chief executive of Privateer Rum – has been placed on leave.
