Princess of Wales mimics Meghan Markle in red power suit as Sussexes face more staff departures

The Princess of Wales has made a bold statement in a stunning outfit as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face more staff departures.

Prince Harry and Meghan are experiencing a 'popularity drop'

The Princess of Wales has made a dazzling appearance in a red trouser suit as she launched the next stage of her campaign to shine a spotlight on the early years of childhood.

Catherine turned heads in a stunning red power suit that echoed a similar outfit worn by Meghan Markle at the One Young World Summit in Manchester last September.

With a proud Prince William by her side, the Princess of Wales kicked off her new Shaping Us initiative with a glitzy reception at BAFTA in London.

She looked effortlessly chic in the eye-catching suit, which she paired with sky-high heels and chandelier-style earrings.

Red power suits are viewed by fashion observers as a particular style that conveys strength and confidence.

Ms Markle rocked a similar look in Manchester when she paired a stylish red monochrome pants suit with chunky gold hoop earrings and matching red high-heeled shoes.

The sister-in-laws have attracted attention in the past for their similar styles, with fashion observers noting that they have a liking for the same designers and looks.

At the gala reception, the Princess of Wales mingled with TV presenter Rochelle Humes, England women football captain Leah Williamson and British broadcaster Fearne Cotton.

In her speech, the Princess of Wales told why it is important to focus on the social and emotional needs of children.

“The campaign is fundamentally about shining a spotlight on the critical importance of early childhood and how it shapes the adults we become,” she said.

“During this time we lay the foundations and building blocks for life. And it is when we learn to understand ourselves, understand others and understand the world in which we live.

‘This is why it is essential, to not only understand the unique importance of our earliest years, but to know what we can all do to help raise future generations of happy, healthy adults.

“Those involved in raising children today need the very best information and support in helping to achieve this mission – and this campaign aims to help do that too.”

MORE HARRY AND MEGHAN STAFF QUIT

Two more leading staff are leaving Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle’s Archewell organisation.

Ben Browning, internal content head of Archewell Productions, and Fara Taylor, who leads the marketing team, will go later this year, according to The Sun. They will not be replaced.

Last month, Mandana Dayani, who ran Archewell for just over a year, stepped down.

Head of communications Ashley Hansen said the latest pair to go had both “exceeded expectations and made their mark”.

She added: “They played a critical role in helping to tell the stories of the Duke and Duchess thus far.

“The couple remain hugely grateful for their support on those vital look-back projects, as they now look forward.”

DI’S BUTLER: ‘HARRY, YOU’VE LOST THE PLOT’

The late Princess Diana’s former butler has revealed Prince Harry attack on him in Spare was a huge blow, especially after a shock cancer diagnosis.

Paul Burrell joined UK TV host Lorraine on Monday to discuss his devastating prostate cancer diagnosis.

During the interview, the ex royal servant also spoke of Prince Harry and his memoir.

Burrell told Lorraine: “Why did he call me ‘Mummy's butler? Why couldn’t he have come to me personally and said he wasn’t happy.’

“I’ve always defended him, always, and now I’m thinking, ‘Harry, you’ve lost the plot. There has been a shift in that man and he’s changed. And I don’t know the answer. I’m saddened by it.”

Burrell, who was described by Diana as her “rock,” fought back tears as he told of his diagnosis last year when he underwent a medical for a TV show, believed to be I’m A Celebrity All Stars.

“I was wrapping Christmas presents, wondering ‘will I be here next Christmas?’

“I went to America to tell my boys over Christmas, and they said to me, ‘Dad we need to see more of you’.”

Burrell said cancer “knocked me sideways” but Prince Harry attacking him was a huge blow.

The ex-butler split from his second wife Maria in 2016 and revealed he was gay a year later.

“I’ve got a very strong partner and we talk about everything. Not everything finishes because you lose your prostate. It can continue to be as good as it ever was in the bedroom.”

Burrell, 64, served as a footman for Queen Elizabeth II and butler to Diana, Princess of Wales.

He entered the royal service when he was 18 and became the Queen’s personal footman a year later.

He was inspired to work for the monarchy after a childhood visit to Buckingham Palace from his coal mining hometown Grassmore, Derbyshire.

He became a close confidante of the princess, who once described him as “her rock”.
