The distraught partner of an Australian businessman who died in Morocco says an autopsy report has proven she had “nothing to do with it”.
The glamorous social media influencer and aspiring actor Majda Mjaoual, 27, who lives in south London, said she was left devastated after her long-term partner, Allen McKenna, 47, died while the pair were visiting her family in Casablanca in February.
Breaking down in tears while speaking to News Corp in London this week, Ms Mjaoual said she had endured sleepless nights after allegations were published raising concerns about the hours before and after Mr McKenna died.
“I didn’t get time to breathe because I had to deal with everybody’s lies and accusations, bullying and the media following me,” Ms Mjaoual said.
“When I saw him (when he died) he was blue, but I’m not a doctor, I didn’t know why he had turned blue.
“Unfortunately Allen’s health was deteriorating, he had so many health problems and that was the cause of death, he tried his best but I think he let himself go as well”.
An autopsy report that Ms Mjaoual submitted to Morocco’s Court of Appeal of Casablanca last month says Mr McKenna died “due to respiratory failure on emphysematous lungs with congestive changes and non-specific haemorrhages”.
Ms Mjaoual said the autopsy report proved she had “nothing to do with this”.
“The autopsy helps because I couldn’t prove at the time what was the cause of death,” Ms Mjaoual said.
Mr McKenna has two children with his former wife and he left no will.
Ms Mjauoal said the pair had leased vehicles and a home together but had no major assets outside his businesses.
“I don’t think I’m legally entitled to anything because Allen has two kids,” she said.
“I don’t want to play this inheritance game, I just want to move on”.
His father, Alan Moorhead, 77, lives in Adelaide and has published many offensive comments about Ms Mjauoal on his personal Facebook page which News Corp has chosen not to publish.
Mr Moorhead was contacted for comment on the autopsy report.
He has previously said he wanted his late son’s body returned “home” and said he was unaware of where his body was located.
Ms Mjaoual said she is no longer on speaking terms with Mr McKenna’s family including her late partner’s father.
She said he has sent her multiple insulting messages — which News Corp has seen but chose not to publish — following his son’s death.
After intense criticism online following the mystery surrounding Mr McKenna’s death, Ms Mjaoual responded by posting an eight-minute video on her TikTok account where she has more than 80,000 followers.
It has been viewed more than 2.6 million times and she hit back at those raising suspicions around Mr McKenna’s death.
“I’m back to London, I’m trying to rebuild my life, I’m minding my business, you’re also minding my business, I’m wondering (who’s) minding yours,” Ms Mjaoual said.
“That’s probably because you’ve got nothing else going on (in) your life”.
In the social media video she also shared images of pieces of information from the autopsy report.
She had previously resorted to shutting down her social media accounts - she also has 24,000 followers on Instagram - after being inundated with vile messages but she recently reactivated her accounts.
She continues to run her late partner’s business, McKenna Security across the UK - of which she is a director - and said she is focused on “trying to heal”.
“It’s been very difficult, I lost my home, lost everything, I lost my partner so to me now all I care about is just healing,” Ms Mjaoual said.
“I don’t have any major plans, I’m working and running the security business and I take my dog for walks, I’m not doing anything major”.
She said Mr Kenna’s other business, McKenna Brewery in Bradford in West Yorkshire, remains closed and she has no involvement with it.
Ms Mjaoual and Mr McKenna were a couple for seven years after they met while they were both working at a Liverpool Street bar in central London - she was employed as a waitress and he was a security guard.
They later married under Islamic law and had planned to have a civil wedding ceremony in London this month.
At the time of his death they had been living in the affluent community of Harrogate in West Yorkshire but after his death Ms Mjaoual ended the lease they had on the property and relocated to London.
Following his death she also gave a statement to Moroccan police and her partner was taken to a morgue in Casablanca before he was buried several days later at Arrahma Cemetery in Casablanca.
Ms Mjaoual said she is also considering taking legal action for defamation over some media reports about her.
