A WOMAN and two children were taken to Toowoomba Hospital this morning after the 4WD they were travelling in and a bus collided at the intersection of Herries and Clifford St.

Toowoomba police officer Constable Josh Baills said it appeared the driver of the 4WD had driven through a red light while travelling east on Herries St.

The front of the bus, which was travelling north on Clifford St, then impacted with the side of the 4WD about 8.15am.

He said between 10 and 20 passengers on the bus were not injured in the incident.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the woman suffered minor injuries and the children were hospitalised for observation.

Traffic was delayed while firefighters and tow truck drivers cleared the scene.
