SCHOOLS across the Toowoomba region will receive nearly $15 million from the latest state budget for new works, creating more than 50 jobs.

The full list of school infrastructure improvements has been released by Education Minister Grace Grace, who called it an investment in the future of the region.

"The 2019 budget is another demonstration of the government's commitment to delivering the regional infrastructure and services our growing state needs," she said.

"It's also great to see schools receiving refurbishment projects to transform old classroom areas into contemporary learning spaces."

Rockschool exams set for city

Some of the biggest education items in the budget included a new performing arts centre and classroom refurbishments for Toowoomba State High School ($5.9 million), 18 new learning areas at Harristown State High School ($1.9 million) and a new admin and learning block at Wyreema State School ($1.275 million).

"As we know, some of the smaller projects are just as important to schools as the bigger ones so it's great to see $250,000 going towards a canteen refurb at Wilsonton State High and $250,000 to refurbish pool amenities at Rangeville State School, just to name a couple," Ms Grace said.

"I'm also really pleased to see Wyreema State School receiving over $1.2 million for a new building with five new classrooms and a new admin area.

"The Palaszczuk Government wants every Queensland child, wherever they live, to get a great start to life by receiving a world-class education.

"Our education infrastructure program has the added benefit of creating and supporting jobs in the state's construction industry."
