A potentially dangerous crash involving a police vehicle in Perth’s south has ended without serious incident.

Police were on their way to a collision in Willetton involving a car and an elderly cyclist on Monday when this separate crash occurred at the traffic light intersection of High Rd and Vahland Ave in Riverton.

About 5pm, another vehicle entered the intersection at the same time as police, resulting in the collision and the police vehicle rolling onto its side.

The scene was cleared about 7pm when the vehicles were towed away.

WA Police said the circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated by an independent officer from the Traffic Enforcement Group.
