OUR SAY: SCHOOL'S back and holidays are over.
Some nice pictures on page 4 (and here) are those every parent has - the first day of school.
It's a long journey, particularly if university eventually looms in their futures.
We are fortunate here to have such a variety of highly successful schools.
The educational offerings are as good as any in Australia.
And at the end of the secondary system we have a local university that is committed to providing the best possible outcomes for our children.
USQ offers a wide range of courses and, of course, has the tremendous cost savings benefit that comes with students who choose to live at home and study here.
We want to keep our brightest and best up here, working with us towards Toowoomba's obviously bright future.
But it all starts at an early age and lessons learned when children are young stick with them for life.
Those lessons must include more than writing, reading and arithmetic.
Equally important are lessons that show children the way to grow to become good, caring people.
