Nexus bid farewell to Toowoomba Bypass

THE company behind the Toowoomba Bypass project, also known as the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing, has bid farewell to the project in a video posted to social media.

The video highlights the diversity of the workforce of the project and features the staff talking about the massive road project.

"A few weeks before it didn't look like we were going to make it," one worker said in the video.

"But we did… and that's something to be proud of."

The workers expressed their gratitude to the Toowoomba community for being so welcoming during the three-year construction and shared some of their favourite memories of working on the project.

The Toowoomba Bypass, which connects the Warrego Highway at Helidon to the Gore Highway at Athol is set to open fully to motorists on September 8.

A section of the highway between Cranley and Athol opened late last year.
