Warrego Highway to temporarily close for construction

TRANSPORT and Main Roads will close the Warrego Hwy at Chinchilla during a four-day construction period next week.

TRANSPORT and Main Roads will close the Warrego Hwy at Chinchilla during a four-day construction period next week.

Construction will take place at the intersection of the Queensland Rail crossing and the highway, and includes a 36-hour full closure at the site.

The highway will be closed from 6am on Sunday, August 5 until 6pm on Monday, August 6 to allow Queensland Rail to replace sleepers, tracks and resurface in advance of TMR's highway upgrade.

The total construction time will be from 6am on Saturday, August 4 until 6pm on Tuesday, August 7.

During the closure, traffic will be diverted along Cemetery Road, Chinchilla-Wondai Road, Park Street and Colamba Street. 

Local traffic access will be maintained on the highway up to the Queensland Rail crossing.
