Wagners start on next project - Anzac Av retail centre

THE Wagner family is building a new, large-scale retail centre near Bunnings Warehouse. Site works have already started.

INITIAL site development has commenced on a proposed large-scale retail hub at Harristown.

The site, which borders Anzac Avenue and Carrel Drive, is located near Bunnings Warehouse and is being developed by the Wagners Group near their Composite Fibre Technology site.

Wagners Group managing director Denis Wagner said the development was in the very early stages.

"We have an approved development application for a bulky goods retail complex near Bunnings," Mr Wagner said.

"We are currently in discussions with potential tenants.

"At this stage, we do not know when construction will commence or what form the complex will take.

"We are just preparing the site," he said.

Mr Wagner said the vision for the site was similar to that of the Harvey Norman Centre at Kearneys Spring.

"As we already have approval, if the right tenant comes along we will be in a position to proceed very quickly," he said.

"The site has great access, high visibility and is in a great location."

"The discussions we are having with prospective tenants are very preliminary.

"There is no set timeframe on the project at this stage."

The Wagners family are also behind the multi-million dollar construction of the Wellcamp Airport and Business Park to the north of the city.

The first passenger and freight aircraft are scheduled to start using the airport by October next year.
