TOOWOOMBA company Wagners has been approved to build a new concrete batching plant in the city's western suburbs.
The Toowoomba Regional Council gave the construction materials business to build the new facility on Alderley St in Harristown.
Once finished, the company estimated it could be able to process between 120,000 and 150,000 tonnes of concrete per year.
"The concrete batch plant will have a maximum throughput of 1250 cubic metres of concrete material per week, which equates to approximately 120,000 - 150,000 tonnes of material per annum," Precinct Urban Planning's Kim Parker wrote in the initial report.
"The overall throughput will be dependent on market demands, and it is unlikely that the plant will reach maximum capacity.
"The facility will be located at the southern end of the site behind the existing industrial buildings."
TRC planner Lachlan O'Sullivan approved the plans and report last week, imposing nearly 90 conditions relating to air quality, traffic, landscaping and acoustic amenities.
Wagners has been contacted for comment on the approval.
