THE Wagner family's grandiose airport dream will take off on Monday.
And excited residents will have a chance to view the action.
The first official flight out of Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport will be at 9.55am.
A mixture of Wagners staff, guests, politicians and paying travellers will be on the first flight to Sydney.
The terminal building will officially open from 8.30am.
A designated outdoor viewing area will be set up adjacent to the terminal to offer "well-wishers" the best vantage point to see Qantaslink's 74-seat Q400 as it jets off down the 2.87km runway to Sydney.
The modern plane will be in stark contrast to the Qantas DH50A, the type used on the first BNE-Toowoomba daily service in 1928.
The Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport will be QantasLink's 58th route.
For those wanting to fly direct to Sydney, flights will depart Brisbane West Wellcamp airport on Tuesday November 18 at 5.20am and 9.35am.
