THE soaring success of the Wagner family has made them the biggest risers in this year's top 150 Queensland Rich List.

With their own airport about to open in weeks, reports have placed the family at $925 million and in sixth position - a jump from number nine last year.

The family was also reported to have seen the biggest rise in wealth, adding $99 million to their fortune.

The company was founded 25 years ago by Henry Wagner and three sons, John, Denis and Neill. Joe joined later.

The Gardner family made their debut on the list at number 29 as the highest new entry for the year with a reported $350 million fortune.

Toowoomba property developer and philanthropist Clive Berghofer was named number 30 on the list with a fortune of $344 million.

Mr Berghofer said his success came from common sense and hard work.

He said he gave $50,000 a week to several different charities around the city.

"That's my contribution - Toowoomba people put me where I am today so I want to help out," he said.

"Many people thank me for saving their lives as I donate to various places."
