A DRONE soaring high above the Grand Central and Gardentown redevelopment has taken bird's eye view photos and footage of the construction site.
Taking off from Toowoomba City Bowls Club, the drone hovered above the site showing progress on the $460 million QIC project which will transform retail in the Garden City.
Sunny and calm conditions yesterday allowed the drone to get a clear shot of the city.

Drones are now regularly used by mining, agriculture and construction companies across the country to survey their work.
Grand Central centre manager Shaine Beveridge said the flights were an ongoing activity aimed at keeping an historical record of the development.
He said they were useful to inform the relevant stakeholders of the progress at the site.
"We routinely get a drone to take a 360 degree panorama and we have a link on our website which is updated regularly," he said.
He said any member of the public could see how construction was going behind the walls at grandcentralshopping.com.au.
"It's also a good way of letting retailers know the scope of the development."
Construction started on the landmark redevelopment on November 14 last year.
Demolition works for the project were completed in February and QIC commenced foundation works in April.

Once complete, the development will double the size of Grand Central to a total of about 90,000 square metres.
ProBuild Queensland construction director Mick Tully will provide an update on the progress of the project at Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise's June Enterprise Evening tomorrow night. ProBuild is the company in charge of the construction.
He will talk on the impact of the development on Toowoomba's CBD and the opportunities it will bring for local suppliers as the building phase gets under way.
