Four people had to be taken to hospital after an out-of-control car crashed into a Hampton Park house in the early hours of Wednesday morning narrowly missing a sleeping couple.
The two lucky residents were taken in for observation after the car came barrelling through the wall into the living room they were sleeping in at the time

Their two children, both aged under five, were asleep in the room next door.
Mangled fence posts, shattered glass, broken bricks and the children’s shoes littered the front yard of the Ivan Crescent home after the accident.
Builders, plumbers and other handymen arriving in the afternoon to start clearing out and repairing the mess.
The out of control car, which held the driver and a passenger, wiped out a neighbours fence and several bins that were left on the curb for collection, before crashing into the family home and landing on its roof.
The driver and passenger were also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries despite the apparent impact.
Neighbour Angela, whose fence was destroyed by the car, said she was woken up by the chaos, it taking a few moments for the scene in front of her to sink in.
“At around 4.30am there was an ungodly noise like anything I have heard before,” she said.
“I came out and even then it didn’t sort of register what had happened, I didn’t even notice that my fence was down.
“Then I looked over the road and could hear the gas (from the house’s ruptured gas main) and saw the car upside down, that’s when it sort of registered and then the passenger got out.”
The passenger seemed to be in a good condition Angela said, however the driver couldn’t get out of the car.
“The passenger tried to open the driver door and that wasn’t gonna happen,” she said.
“Emergency services quickly arrived from then.”
Police said the vehicle veered off Hallam Road up the footpath connecting with the neighbours fence before crossing Ivan Crescent and crashing into the home.
They are still investigating the circumstances of the accident, with a spokesperson saying the occupants of the car were lucky to be in such good condition.
“The impact forced the car to flip onto its roof,” they said.
