Two Melbourne men extradited from South Australia over shooting outside the Millers Inn Hotel in Altona North

A duo charged over a gun incident outside the Millers Inn Hotel have arrived at Melbourne Airport, with one giving a photographer the middle finger as the pair were ushered to a waiting police vehicle.

Two Melbourne men have been extradited from South Australia over a shooting incident outside the Miller’s Inn Hotel in Altona North.

The handcuffed pair arrived at Melbourne Airport on a Qantas flight on Thursday night, escorted by several Victoria Police detectives.

One of them gave a photographer the middle finger as they were ushered to a waiting police vehicle.

Police arrested them in the SA coastal town of Victor Harbour on Tuesday, before they were charged over the September 12 gun incident.

A group of men were in a carpark of the pub, off McArthurs Rd, at about 2.45am when a car approached.

An argument followed and shots were fired at the car, some of which missed and hit a nearby building.

The arrested men, a 23-year-old from Yarraville. and a 27-year-old from Werribee, faced Christies Beach Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday where a successful extradition application was made.

They will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The Yarraville man, 23, faces eight charges, including discharging a firearm at a vehicle with reckless disregard for safety, being a prohibited person using a firearm, using a firearm in a dangerous manner, and reckless conduct endangering life.

The Werribee man was charged with reckless conduct endangering life, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in a public place and possessing a loaded firearm in a public place.

Hobsons Bay CIU detectives on Thursday raided properties in Werribee and Yarraville where three gel blasters were seized.
