NSW police arrested his accused killer, a 23-year-old man from Glenroy, in Albury near the Victorian-NSW border on Monday afternoon.

How the man travelled to the border town before his arrest remained unclear.

He will appear at the Albury Local Court on Tuesday where Victoria Police will apply to have him extradited back to Victoria.

On Monday, police tape cut off access to a set of three townhouses in Mitchell St, with police forensic units seen entering and exiting the front most home.

The home was completely shuttered off with the blind on every single windows appearing to be drawn.

Most of the forensic activity appeared to be in the courtyard of the home, with police coming in and out of the gated area and the flash of cameras seen from the street.

Forensic teams were observed closely examining what looked like cardboard boxes in the backyard of the residence

A neighbour mentioned that the couple often walked three large dogs together, and these dogs also appeared to be absent from the property.

Anyone with information that could assist police with their inquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
