A Melbourne rideshare driver has been arrested after allegedly pleasuring himself while a woman slept next to him in the passenger seat — and she says her friend caught it all on film.

Kayela Nasalio said she and two friends ordered a DiDi for a ride home after a night out for a friend’s birthday and she fell asleep in the front seat on the way home.

It was during the trip that one of Ms Nasalio’s friends noticed what the driver was doing, she said.

“The Didi driver was touching himself while looking at me,” she said. “Absolutely disgusting. It’s terrible. It’s wrong in so many way,” she was reported as saying on 7News

The fast thinking friend caught the act on film, but didn’t confront the driver or make Ms Nasalio aware.

“I asked her why she didn’t wake me up and tell me,” she said.

“My friends said that she didn’t want to get dropped off on the side of the road. I would have hit him. I honestly would have kicked him out of his own car.

“Go to hell, honestly. I honestly wish him the worst. I don’t think I could ever forgive him.”

Sexual offences detectives arrested the driver today who has since been questioned.

DiDi announced on Friday that the driver had been banned from driving for their company and reported the driver to Safe Transport Victoria.

It comes among calls for cameras to be installed in all rideshare vehicles, Didi said in a statement, however they can’t make drivers do that.

“There is no legal requirement for Victorian rideshare vehicles to have security cameras in their cabins,” they said.
