A freight and logistics company has collapsed with more than $116m owing to creditors.

Vermile Pty Limited – formerly trading as Austrans Container Service – was placed into liquidation in July 2014, according to a liquidator’s report prepared by Cor Cordis.

The report, authored by Daniel Juratowitch, found the director of the company, Gregory O’Shea, may be liable for trading while insolvent.

“Based on investigations to date and the information presently available, we consider that a breach may have been committed by the Director with response to insolvent trading and director duties,” the report states.

The report, sent out to creditors in October 2024, also found there may be claims of “unfair preference payments” and “uncommercial transactions”.

There was found to be $55.9m owed to secured creditors, $58.7 million owed to unsecured creditors and $1.7m owed to staff – and $594 was owed in child support, according to the report.

In June 2024, Mr Juratowitch, Sam Kaso and Catherine Conneely were appointed as Administrators of the company. In a subsequent creditors meeting in July, creditors resolved to put the company in liquidation.

The report states the liquidation process is expected to take one year.

The Herald Sun attempted to contact Mr O’Shea without success.
