Nothing can stop them now as a combined Catholic school cast are set for the musical We Will rock You at the Townsville Civic Theatre this weekend.
With a stellar selection of some of Queen’s greatest songs the musical sees the talents of St Patrick’s College, Ignatius Park College and St Margaret Mary’s College go Ga Ga to rock the stage.
In the distant future live music is forbidden and the musical traces the path of rock rebels Scaramouche and Galileo who battle the ruling Killer Queen to discover who are the champions.
Under Pressure and no longer wanting to Play the Game they want to Break Free of tyranny, find A Kind of Magic and Someone to Love before Another One Bites the Dust.
St Patrick’s College Drama teacher and the musical’s assistant director Rosie McGuire said there was an amazing array of talent on display in the musical.
“I think it’s something that hasn’t been seen in Townsville for the last couple of years. I also think we were really lucky. The parts really fit our students so it was almost like it was made for this cohort of kids,” she said.
The assistant director said We Will Rock You was a fantastic production.
“It’s a musical that’s full of life, and I think with a live band as well, it really just takes everything to the next level,” she said.
We Will Rock You is on at the Townsville Civic Theatre this Friday and also two shows on Saturday. To book go to https://whatson.townsville.qld.gov.au/events/we-will-rock-you-st-patrick-college-townsville-ignatius-park-college-and-st-margaret-marys-college
