Toddler suffers head injuries in alleged DV incident in Bowen

A toddler has suffered head injuries in a domestic-violence related incident in North Queensland, police have confirmed.

A toddler has suffered facial injuries in a domestic-violence related incident in North Queensland, police have confirmed.

Queensland Ambulance Service said a “small child” – understood to be aged under five – had been taken to Bowen Hospital following an alleged “altercation” at an address about midday.

A QAS spokesman later clarified that the child had been taken to hospital by private means, while paramedics had transported a man with minor head injuries to hospital.

The man was listed as being in a stable condition, a QAS spokesperson said.

Queensland Ambulance Service said it could not provide additional details as the alleged incident involved domestic violence.

The child is not believed to have been badly hurt physically.

EARLIER: Fire crews work to free child with arm stuck in pool table

Townsville fire crews are attempting to free a child with an arm stuck in a pool table in the West End.

Queensland Fire Department confirmed just before 11am that two crews were working to extract the child who had his appendage trapped in a billiard pocket at an address in Hugh Street about 10.30am.

A condition of the child was not available.

Queensland Ambulance Service are heading to the scene.

Three people have been injured in a three-vehicle traffic accident in Railway Estate.

Queensland Fire Department confirmed that two crews were on the scene of the accident on Saunders Street that occurred about 8.30pm.

Queensland Ambulance Service said three people had been assessed for injuries and at least two had been taken to Townsville University Hospital in stable conditions.

There were no details available about the extent of the injuries.

Queensland Police Service were also on scene.
