A film tour featuring a line-up of inspirational female adventurers is set to visit Townsville next month.
The 2024 Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour will stop in town on August 14 at the Warrina Cineplex, and will show eight shorts films celebrating brave and courageous women in activities such as rock-climbing, skydiving, skiing, kayaking and mountain biking.
Four Australian women are included in this year’s films, with other films showcasing India, the UK, Canada and USA.
One of the films titled ‘Impact to Ignite’ shows the journey of Australian Brooke McIntosh as she takes on a 1,600km run across the Western Australian trucking route, battling 38 degree heat and barren landscapes.
Fellow Aussie and Olympic free-skier Anna Segal is featured in the film ‘23.4 Degrees’.
The film sees Anna weaving her way down snow-covered Canadian mountains. She said the film tour will inspire and captivate audiences.
“Australian audiences have a unique opportunity to see what their fellow country women are doing to break boundaries and push the limits,” she said.
“I’m grateful to be part of such an empowering event that highlights our strength and resilience.”
The Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour is a must-see event for thrillseekers and adventure lovers.
The tour will visit Townsville’s Warrina Cineplex on August 15 from 7pm to 10pm.
