GIRU: Man in life-threatening condition after water rescue

An emergency helicopter has been dispatched to Giru after a man was found in a life-threatening condition on private property following a “water incident”. BREAKING.

UPDATE 4.32pm

Queensland Ambulance have confirmed they are on scene and treating a man in his 60s who’s in a life threatening condition after he became trapped inside a “water pod”.

“There is a significant amount of water he potentially became entrapped in,” a spokesperson said.

An emergency helicopter has been dispatched to Giru after a man was found in a life-threatening condition on private property following a “water incident”.

Ambulance crews are currently on scene at the Hodel Rd address, attending the man.

Queensland Ambulance described the situation as a “water incident”.

Fire crews said they were informed of the emergency at 3.38pm, but the only details they had was a person was trapped.

Police are also on their way to the scene, Queensland Police said the initial call out was reported as an industrial accident.
