The lights are off and the ovens are cold after three Dominos pizza locations in Townsville closed down for the foreseeable future.
Dominos Bushland Beach, Dominos Burdell (North Shore) and Dominos Mount Louisa all temporarily closed on December 2.
The sudden closure leaves the store’s predominatenly young staff out of a job right as the Christmas school holidays kicks off.
In a statement Dominos Australia said the three stores have been temporarily closed after the local franchisee determined they were unable to operate the stores on an ongoing basis.
“Dominos has offered support to all team members impacted by this temporary closure, and are committed to re-opening the stores as soon as possible,” the spokesperson said.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to the local community due to the temporary closure of these stores, and look forward to serving hot and fresh pizza again very soon.”
This news comes after Dominos announced it was having a “tough start” to the 2025 financial year wiht store sales down 1.3 per cent in August 2024.
Dominos has six more stores in Townsville - Kirwan, West End, Hermit Park, North Ward, Aitkenvale and Fairfield Central.
