Townsville’s luxury hotel has received a late first birthday surprise as their restaurants get recognised as two of the best in the country. Find out why they received the prestigious honour.

Townsville’s luxury hotel has received a late first birthday surprise as their fine dining restaurants receive an honour recognising them as two of the best restaurants in the country.

Marmor and Terasu have been awarded coveted Chef Hats for 2025 by the Australian Good Food Guide.

Executive chef at Ardo and The Ville, Nicholas Redsell, said it was an honour to have Marmor ranked as the highest scoring venue in the Townsville region.

“We’re honoured that two venues from Ardo have been awarded with hats and featured among some of the best venues in the country,” he said.

Australian Good Food Guides Chef Hats are presented to the top restaurants after they have been judged anonymously on six key factors; ingredients, taste, presentation, technique, value and consistency.

Marmor’s elevated Australian dining experience has made it a must try for locals and visitors alike with its use of only the finest products in the country including prime cuts of beer and fresh seafood setting it apart.

The Head chef, Aerie Prabowo brings 20 years of experience and a combination of French and Japanese culinary training into the Marmor kitchen.

The general manager of food and beverage at Ardo and The Ville, Philip Cheng, said “a high standard was set from day one, so it’s great to see the fruits of our labour.”

“It is all thanks to the hard work from our passionate Culinary and Service teams.”

Terasu’s culinary team is led by Japanese head chef Yukio Ozeki who left Tokyo to share his love for modern Japanese cuisine with the world.

The menu is punctuated by sashimi, tempura soft-shelled crab and wagyu steak all set within Terasu’s lively take on Japanese dining.

Ardo Hotel recently celebrated its first anniversary by offering 25 per cent off their best available rate for their room (ending February 2) and an upcoming rooftop party on February 1.

Since opening their doors the luxury hotel has welcomed close to 49,000 guests, many of those visits to the region, and injected a massive $120m into the local economy.
