TOOWOOMBA'S unpaid fines have racked up a staggering bill owed to the State Government.
Figures for the sprawling 4350 postcode reveal $17.64 million is owed to the State Penalties Enforcement Registry - the fifth highest debt amount for Queensland.
Official figures for 2016 put the 4350 postcode behind four others in the state, with Yarrabilba south of Brisbane topping the list with more than $25.318m debt owed by almost 8900 debtors on 101,000 fines
The Logan suburb of Kingston came in second with a total of $23.138m owed, followed by the Ipswich suburb of Newtown ($22.383m), and Carol Park in fourth ($17.973m).
In contrast to Toowoomba's staggering figure, Gatton's 1652 fine dodgers owed $3.312m while Warwick's $2.962m debt was held by 1675 debtors.
Further west, Dalby's 1372 debtors owed $2.738m while 646 people owed $1.347m in the Chinchilla area.
