Young woman launches JL Grazing Co after encouragement from family and friends

After encouragement from friends and family a Toowoomba woman branched out and started JL Grazing Co, serving up sweet and savoury platters – a business idea that has grown in popularity over the past 12 months.

Creativity the key to these grazing platters

What started out as a hobby has turned into a small side business for one Toowoomba woman.

Jess Liddelow launched JL Grazing Co officially at the end of last year after three years of creating cheese boards and platters for friends and family.

“I put together my first platter in 2017 and was doing a few here and there for different parties but was not very serious about it until a few months ago,” she said.

“I was getting all sorts of comments from people saying how good they look and that I should start a small business, so I took a leap of faith and started JL Grazing Co in November.”

The business specialises in platters and grazing tables for groups and parties of all sizes.

It also offers picnic boxes for two people or four to five people and caters to all different food allergies and preferences.

While Ms Liddelow still works full-time in her job as a service administrator she excited at the thought of JL Grazing Co one day becoming more than her “side hustle.”

“My favourite part about creating platters is seeing the ideas that I form in my head, come to life when I put it all together,” she said.

“I also love seeing my customers reactions when they see the platters completed.

“It is very rewarding and makes me happy when my customers are excited to dig in and eat it.”
