Celebrate World Environment Day at Lake Annand this weekend with activities to suit all ages.

Expect to hear from Japanese Taiko Drummers, a rundown of Toowoomba’s antinuclear movement from the 1970s and tunes from folk musician John Whybird.

There will be a variety of stalls, choirs and even more singers.

You can also expect activities for the kids, free giveaways and delicious food on offer.

The event will run from 10am-4pm on Sunday.

40 for Fortey

Cheer on the runners racing in memory of Senior Constable Brett Forte on Sunday at the Toowoomba Showgrounds.

The Queensland Police Legacy fundraiser sees participants complete 40km either individually or as a team.

The 40km Race starts at 6:30am, and there is a 4km remembrance lap at 8am.

Colin Lane and David Hobson

See the worlds of opera and comedy collide when these two friends take to the Empire Theatre stage on Saturday.

Colin Lane is best known as the Lano from Lano and Woodley, while David Hobson is one of Australia’s best-known award-winning Opera performers.

The show, In Tails, launched in 2016/17 with a selection of shows across Australia to great success.

Tickets are $69.95 for adults and can be purchased from the Empire Theatre website.

Street Feast

Visitors are in for a delicious evening when Street Feast arrives in Crows Nest on Sunday afternoon.

Expect hours of tasty treats from food trucks, dessert stalls, along with other retail stores and live music.

This $2 event kicks off at the Crows Nest Showgrounds from 4pm and continues through until 9pm.

Regular Markets

Don’t forget to pick up your fresh produce at the region’s regular markets this weekend.

The Toowoomba Farmers Markets begin at 7am Saturday next to Cobb and Co and continue until noon.

The PCYC markets begin at 7am on Sunday.

You can also head out to Crows Nest for markets from 8am-noon.

Clifford Park Racing

Saturday evening racing returns to Clifford Park this weekend.

Racing kicks off from 4.40pm.

Adult tickets are $10, concession card holders are $5 and children between 13 and 17 are free.

Children under 12 can enter for free.

Mother’s Moments High Tea

Celebrate the mums in your life at the Jondaryan Woolshed this Sunday from 9.30-11.30am.

There will be floral demonstrations, music, craft displays and you can even have a self-guided tour of the Woolshed for $10.

The high tea is $20, and you can book by calling 0417 374 536 or 0409 023 403.

Collective Weave

There is still time to check out the Collective Weave exhibition at Cobb and Co across this weekend.

This vibrant and dynamic installation by Slow Art Collective, inspired by the wonders of nature.

You can see it for free with admission to the museum from 9am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Drag Bingo

Join Anita Box for a night of Musical Bingo at the Coffee Club on Saturday night.

The two rounds will be random hits, and stage and screen.

Tickets can be purchased for $21.60 from Toowoomba Tickets.

The event begins at 6pm.

Exhibitions opening

Two exhibitions will officially open at the Toowoomba Art Society this weekend.

The official opening of Licorice Allsorts and In The Beginning will open at 2pm on Saturday and everyone is welcome.

The exhibitions run until June 23.
